Perak Investment Management Centre or better known as InvestPerak, was established on 24th January 2006 to serve as the First Point of Contact for Investors in the manufacturing and services sectors in Perak. It primarily acts as the principal investment promotion agency of the Perak State Government and reports directly to the Chief Minister of Perak.

Working visit to SIBELCO MALAYSIA SDN BHD led by YB Dato' Seri Ir Hj Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin, Perak State Executive Committee Chairman for Investment, Industry & Regional Development. SIBELCO is a Belgian-based company and have been in Perak for more than ten years, producing refined kaolin for export market. The purpose of the visit today is to strenghten the relationship between Perak State Goverment and existing investor and give full support for the company to expand additional RM30-50 million investment in Perak.
IPOH: InvestPerak together with MITI & MIDA Perak attended FMM Perak Networking Lunch with Branch Committee Members this afternoon. The purpose of the program is to give a briefing on membership services by FMM Perak especially to new members and discuss on current issues faced by industries.
IPOH: One year and one day on from the launch of the Proton Cars X70, the CKD version of the SUV has finally entered production at the Tanjung Malim factory. The first locally-assembled units are rolling out of an extension of the plant, which cost RM1.2 billion to develop. The ceremony was graced by the presence of MITI Minister, YB Dato’ Darell Leiking and YB Dato' Seri Ir Hj Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin, Perak State Executive Committe Chairman for Investment, Industy and Regional Development representing YAB Menteri Besar Perak. According to Proton, it has fulfilled its promise it made at the launch of the imported model, to commence production of CKD units by the end of 2019. And that’s just the beginning – Tanjung Malim will also be hub of joint venture partner Geely’s right-hand drive production, with global exports in the pipeline. A map flashed up on the screen during the event showed various planned export markets, which not only included regional countries such as Brunei, Thailand and Indonesia, but also those further abroad like Australia, Pakistan, South Africa, South America and even the United Kingdom.
IPOH: A special meeting was chaired by YB Dato' Seri Ir Hj Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin this afternoon to discuss on potential to develop Perak as a hub for Bamboo industry. The meeting was attended by various agencies such as Malaysian Timber Industry Board (MTIB), PERBADANAN PEMBANGUNAN PERTANIAN NEGERI PERAK and other relevant agencies. Based on current data, Malaysia only exported RM9.9 million worth of bamboo products last year compared with the RM288.2 billion of global bamboo market, which means there are huge potential for the state to grab the opportunities to tap the growing market. Throughout this meeting, Perak is deemed to be developed as a hub for tissue culture lab for bamboo seedlings and become a regional hub for export market to generate income as well as benefit the local community.
