Perak's economic strength is based on a board
spectrum of
industries. The manufacturing sector has made rapid advances over the years, contributing
substantlally to the total Malaysian exports of manufactured goods. This sector is given further
emphasis to intergrate with other sectors and operations aiming of strenghthening industrial
linkages, productivity and competitiveness of the industries.
There are more than 4,500 industries already existed in Perak State. We have 1,474 industries
categorised as small and medium size Industry, where 444 industries are larger ones and the
remainder are categorised as cottage smaller industry, which are mainly family owned.
