Operating in Perak comes with a host of advantages, of these the low operating costs, from labour and transportation to real estate is probably the most significant.
Companies may locate their operations in one of the many industrial estates developed either by the Perak State Development Corporation of by private owners.
Perak offers a range of incentives for investors including 30% reduction on land premium for industrial use, flexible lease periods for industrial land up to 99 years, no restriction on the mortgage of land to financial institutions to secure loans for project implementation, provision of hostels for workers, payment of land premium via instalments and many other fast-track packages.
“Pre-packaged” incentives that include a 100% tax exemption for 10 years or more, may be provided for certain projects of national importance under the Income Tax Act. Such projects would include those with heavy capital investment and advanced technology that could have a significant impact on the Malaysian economy.
